Elatou means fir tree in Greek. Elatou is also a village at an altitude of 1000m in the Greek mountains, where the vegetation changes from deciduous to coniferous trees and fir trees dominate the forest landscape.

The video shows a mountainous region from a distance, shrouded in clouds and fog. The air is constantly flowing. The images are accompanied by layered drone sounds, which, like the fog, constantly intertwine, as well as field recordings.

The sequences play out in real time. At some moments, the entire image is obscured by clouds, while at others, parts of the forest below become visible. Through the skillful use of cross-fades, the depicted landscape appears to transform almost imperceptibly. Combined with the powerful sound, this creates a hypnotic pull that draws viewers into the forces of nature, reminding them of their own insignificance, much like sacred architecture.
